With heightened nervous energy, suppressed emotions surfacing, and collective course corrections underway, this week sets the tone for deeper transformations ahead. Eclipse season rarely whispers—it signals endings, awakenings, and new directions that unfold whether we feel ready or not.

Overview: February 2 - 8, 2026
EXPECT THE UNEXPECTED: Innovative, freedom-loving, high-energy Uranus will be a very strong influence in our individual and collective experience for most of February. The sideways-spinning planet is at a standstill now, preparing to station direct on February 3, so its impact is heightened throughout the coming week. The Uranus effect will likely be most obvious when it squares Mercury on February 5 and squares Venus on February 8.
On the mundane level, radical Uranus is known for initiating surprising or sudden changes, breakthroughs and breakdowns, eccentric or erratic behaviors, revolutions, and rebellions. These disruptive potentials carry into the rest of the month with the planet being square both the Sun (February 15) and Mars (February 27). And, due to its affiliation with Aquarius, Uranus also reigns over the Solar Eclipse that occurs in that sign on February 17.
Nervous energy, restlessness, and a sense of anticipation are heightened when we work with strong Uranus energies. Be sure to use your spiritual tools, spend time in nature, and take nutrients and adaptogens to support your nervous system this month.
THE ALGOL EFFECT: A significant factor to be aware of is that Uranus is now aligned with the fixed star Algol. Algol is a binary star, located in the constellation Perseus, one of the stars that forms Medusa's Head. Ancient astrologers tended to interpret fixed stars as being either completely benevolent or fully malific; they called Algol the "Demon Star" and believed that when it was activated, there would be extreme events, destruction, chaos, and decapitations.
Thankfully, modern astrology tends not to use such extreme terms. However, we can expect that with Uranus conjunct Algol when it stations, there will be some rather intense episodes this week.
On an individual level, we may deal with emotions that have been suppressed. Some may figuratively "lose their heads" and behave strangely or in surprising ways. As a star in Medusa's Head, Algol can also activate feminine power, especially when faced with patriarchal oppression.
The last time Algol was strongly activated was mid-July 2024, when Mars conjoined Uranus and both were aligned with the fixed star. Uranus is within one degree of Algol from January 25 to February 14 this year, and will still be within 1°12´ of the fixed star when it squares Mars on February 27.
CONSCIOUSNESS EXPANSION: On another level, Uranus—as one of the three higher vibrational transpersonal planets (along with Neptune and Pluto)—is the planetary representative of Higher Consciousness. Uranus is called The Great Awakener, opening our minds to higher-level information and bringing an expanded awareness to humanity.
Thus we may have access to significant insights with Uranus being strong this week. We can facilitate this by imagining "the three minds unite": visualizing a link between our human mind, our Soul's mind, and Higher Mind/Universal Consciousness.
ECLIPSE SEASON: With the Full Moon now behind us, we have entered the first eclipse season of 2026. An Annual Solar Eclipse will accompany the New Moon on February 17, and a Total Lunar Eclipse perfects at the Full Moon on March 3.
Eclipse season is known for being a time of major completions, clearings, resets, and course corrections. Changes that occur during this time often feel fated or karmic, and can alter our collective history. With two eclipses and the Saturn-Neptune conjunction all occurring within a three-week period, February is certain to be a month to remember.
DAILY ASPECTS THIS WEEK (February 2 - 8, 2026):
Here are my brief interpretations of this week's most important aspects, day by day:
Monday
Sun semisquare Saturn: We could deal with some frustrations and delays today. It might be tempting to focus on what is going wrong instead of where we are making progress.
Mercury sextile Chiron: Emotional intelligence and intuition are enhanced with this aspect. We may find healing through conversation or through journaling.
Tuesday
Mercury sextile Eris: Conversations are energized and words are forthright today. However, impulsive or tactless words can stir controversy.
Sun semisquare Neptune: We might feel an underlying uneasiness that we can't quite define.
Uranus stations direct: This is the last time that Uranus will station in Taurus, since the planet will begin its seven-year transit of Gemini in late April. Over the next three months, the sideways-spinning planet will be completing its higher purposes in the sign—helping us clarify what we truly value and liberating us from a resistance to change.
Wednesday
Venus sextile Chiron: This aspect can provide opportunities to heal relationships, due to an increased sensitivity to our own and others' emotional needs.
Thursday
Mercury square Uranus: The nervous system is highly activated today. New information may challenge what we thought we knew. Disruptions in communications, transportation, and technology are possible.
Sun quincunx Jupiter: This aspect challenges us to review our old belief systems, and to consider how they need to be adjusted as we evolve.
Jupiter square Ceres: We may struggle between the desire to expand and take risks and the need to feel safe and protected.
Venus sextile Eris: It is easier to be self-assertive today, in a way that enhances and enlivens our relationships.
Friday
Mercury enters Pisces: Intuition and the imagination are highlighted as Mercury travels through Pisces. Our minds are especially impressionable and we could pick up on collective thoughts and mindsets more readily. Since our thinking is influenced by our emotions, we may not always see reality or details clearly. This will be a very long transit, lasting from February 6 to April 14, due to Mercury going retrograde (February 26 to March 20).
Saturday
Mercury square Sedna, Mercury sesquiquadrate Jupiter: We might experience information overload now. Conversations could become quite emotional. Some may be prone to exaggeration.
Sunday
Venus square Uranus: Issues of freedom and independence could arise in relationships. This aspect can test alliances; those that are strong and accepting of differences will adapt, while those that are built on shaky foundations could be challenged.

The need to create community and to connect with others of like mind may inspire you to take risks this year. You have the ability to deeply commit to a cause, especially one that has spiritual overtones. Although Aquarius is by nature objective and independent, as you make decisions about your participation in groups, it will be important to consider how you define family as well as the ways you want to both express and receive nurturing.
